Re Calibration

All our UBA5s come factory calibrated.

For Recalibration we check the UBA5 in our calibration lab (our own equipment is calibrated traceable to NIST and NRC) , record all the parameters and print the test results in a four page report.

Instructions for sending a UBA from The United States or Canada for repair or calibration:

Please don’t include any accessories with them, unless you have reason to believe that there’s something wrong with them.

No RMA number required, but let us know the tracking number so we can track it.

Banana Safety Plug Set

The Banana Safety Plug Set are banana plugs that fit the UBA5’s battery input, but have a spring loaded sleeve that slides over the the banana plug when not in use, preventing them from shorting. Our standard set is ideal for soldering either directly to your battery or to your battery holder. Soldering directly to battery tabs is the recommended method for multiple cycle testing as it removes any issues from poor battery connections.

This set comes with heavy 12 AWG wire so that voltage drop is negligible. The set consists of four banana plugs with leads, each one 265mm long (10.5″).

Longer leads and different attachments (i.e. alligator clips or banana jacks for extending and making safe standard UBA5 alligator wires) are available. We’d be glad to quote you.

The UBA5 battery analyzer tests, conditions, and charges batteries and then generates a test report showing the condition of the battery.

The UBA5 connects to your PC via serial or USB port or with an optional WiFi/Ethernet adapter that we sell.

You can order your UBA5 with either a 15V, 19V or 24V power supply.

Channel Combiner Adapter

The Channel Combiner Adapter combines two UBA5 battery inputs allowing parallel channel charging and discharging which doubles the available current. If you have more than one UBA5 you can use multiple channel combiners for even higher currents.

Serial Port Opto-Isolator

Do you want to operate your UBA5 at a different ground potential from your PC? Then you need the Serial Port Opto-Isolator. This self powered isolator optically couples your UBA5 to your PC or to another UBA5. Use this isolator if the battery being tested is connected to equipment or to another battery being tested.

Dual Optoisolated Digital Output and Temperature Probes Module

This accessory has two optically isolated digital outputs and two temperature probes. You control the two digital outputs inside the battery analysis routines that you write. They can be used to turn on external loads or chargers or even to control a temperature chamber.

This accessory includes the connector on the back of your UBA5 which is installed when you order it with your UBA5.

The temperature probes allow the battery temperature to be monitored and to terminate charging at a specific temperature or dT/dt. The temperature is logged for further analysis.

The probes work for temperatures between 0 and 100 degrees Celsius. Contact us if you require lower temperatures.

Magnetic Temperature Probe Set

This temperature probe set includes two magnetic probes that allow the battery temperature to be monitored and to terminate charging at a specific temperature or dT/dt. The temperature is logged with the battery analysis for viewing. Both probes can be used simultaneously to monitor two locations on the battery being tested, or one to monitor battery temperature and the other ambient temperature.

The temperature probes work for temperatures between 0 and 100 degrees Celsius. Contact us if you need to measure lower temperatures then 0°C.

This temperature probes attache to NiCd, NiMH and lithium ion batteries and battery packs. It does not attach to lead acid nor lithium polymer batteries.

The temperature probe set includes two temperature probes and the connector that is installed on the back of the UBA5. When ordered with a UBA5, the connector comes installed. The non-magnetic version can be purchased here.
